4th Annual EOD Warrior Foundation Special Event Sunday, November 6th from 1pm - 7pm
Jointly sponsored by the Old Dominion Boat Club and Sons of the American Legion Post 34, we will host our 4th annual production of a special event to benefit the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Warrior Foundation at our Club on Sunday, November 6th from 1:00pm – 7:00pm.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) refers to the disarming and disposal of bombs. On the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are responsible for the majority of injuries and fatalities. EOD Technicians have one of the most dangerous jobs in the military and willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect the lives of others – both in the war zone and at home on U.S. soil.
The EOD Warrior Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves the entire EOD Community by providing assistance to active duty wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors, wounded EOD veterans and their families, and families of fallen EOD warriors. The organization also maintains the EOD Memorial Wall in honor of fallen EOD warriors. The Foundation believes the EOD family is for life and is committed to providing the necessary assistance and ongoing support to these families stationed around the world.
Last year we raised over $100,000 with 100% of the proceeds going directly to support the EOD veterans and their families. Our goal this year is to raise $125,000. I am confident that partnering with the Sons of the American Legion Post 34 and with once again the support and help of our ODBC Members we will have another successful event.
