The Old Dominion Boat Club, the birthplace of high school rowing in Alexandria, and in cooperation with the Alexandria Crew Boosters, sponsors a select fall rowing program for high school rowers from around the Northern Virginia and DC area. The ODBC crews train at the Dee Campbell Rowing Center in Alexandria, and compete in the scholastic class of club rowing events, including the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia and the Head of the Charles in Boston.
The ODBC Select Rowing Program (Fall Season) utilizes experienced high school rowers (male and female) who have completed one or more high school spring seasons of competition. Most boats will compete locally at Occoquan and Georgetown venues with select boats rowing in Boston, Philadelphia and Chattanooga. Tryouts for the program usually take place in late August with the season running into October.
