This year’s Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016, at 7:30PM at the CLUBHOUSE at 1 King Street, Alexandria, VA.
The procedures for the election are spelled out in Article XI, Section 4, below. Briefly, you may vote at the Club from 11 AM until 5 PM the day of December 5th, and also at the Annual meeting that night (Monday, December 5, at 7:30PM). The votes will be tallied after the voting concludes that evening and the winners announced.
Section 4. Voting shall be by members present and found to be in good standing. Voting shall occur on the night of the annual meeting as well as between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM on the day and at the place of the regular annual meeting. During the daytime voting period, a Special Committee appointed by the President shall pass out printed ballots, upon checking the Club records, confirming voting eligibility by a register of members obtained from the Treasurer. The name and submission of a ballot by each voter shall be recorded on the register. All ballots cast during daytime voting shall count towards establishment of a quorum for purposes of Article VII, Section 4.
At the annual meeting, each candidate may address the membership for a period not to exceed three (3) minutes. After all speeches are concluded, the Nomination Committee, with the assistance of the Treasurer, shall pass out printed ballots, upon checking the Club records and daytime voting register, to those eligible members present. No member shall cast more than one (1) vote.
